Laurent Bannock, moved from the United Kingdom to Santa Fe in New Mexico (USA), early in 2003. Leaving a successful career in London and the South of England. He had fallen in love with the beautiful ‘High Dessert’ of New Mexico, whilst visiting several years before on a lecture tour of the US South West. Although a big risk, to move to another part of the world, New Mexico has proved to be a wonderful place to live and work. Santa Fe is famous for its ‘Natural Medicine’ lifestyle and practitioners, and the area is perfect for an outdoor lifestyle – with great weather most of the year. He spends much of his spare time hiking & skiing the many wilderness and mountain trails and runs of the area, as well as enjoying the art and culture rich offerings of Santa Fe and New Mexico in general. Travel has always been a passion, ever since a child – and the United States offers a great deal of variety – not well known by Europeans.
In the UK, Laurent was a ‘Guest Expert’ on several national and international radio and television shows in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand – including LBC with Anne Diamond, BBC Radio 2, ‘The Big Breakfast’ on Channel 4, ‘Why Weight’ on Channel Four, and most recently ‘Fat Acdemy’ on the Discovery Health Channel (2003/2004) and others.He also had enjoyed a large number of positive press articles in well known magazines and newspapers. some of which can be found on this website.
He has authored and co-authored a number of publications He has written and published a number of books, including the reference books ‘Clinical Human Nutrition’ & ‘Applied Clinical Nutrition’ as well as the many articles and newsletters found in the IICN HumanNutrition Technical Newsletter (a free-of-charge international e-journal, with over 6,000 International subscribers). Current writing projects include ‘Probiotics in Clinical Practice’ and ‘A Justification for Nutritional Supplementation’ – both to be released in 2005.
Educated in the UK, Australia, Germany and the US. Undergraduate education includes Exercise & Health Studies with APT / City University in London, England. Graduate Education includes a Doctor of Health Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition from the IICN in London, England. Laurent is currently undertaking a Master of Nutrition Medicine graduate degree with RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Professional education includes diplomas in Nutritional Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Herbal Medicine & Sports Medicine.
Laurent has been teaching undergraduate and graduate level students in clinical nutrition for the past 5 years. He is currently Professor of Applied Clinical Nutrition with the IICN in London, England.
